National Allergy, Asthma, and Urticaria Centers of Charleston, PA has been conducting research for over 25 years. We have participated in over 500 Phase II-IV clinical trials studying investigational medications and devices. We pride ourselves in providing quality data and exceeding our recruitment goals. Our therapeutic areas include asthma, allergies, COPD, eczema, and urticaria. We are members of CRN, Clinical Research Network, one of the country’s foremost associations of leading clinical trial research sites.

All of our 4 board certified and 2 physician assistants are an integral part of our research department and serve as investigators. We have a staff of 8 dedicated study coordinators and a regulatory specialist. Our qualified staff are skilled in PFT testing (serial, methacholine and exercise challenges), NIOX testing, EKGs, vital signs (serial), phlebotomy, allergen skin testing, chest and sinus x-rays, and data management. Most of our study coordinators manage 2-3 enrolling trials at any one time with one at each site focusing on data management.

The majority of our study participants come from within our clinical practice database of approximately 18,000 patients or from our research database of approximately 5,000 previous study participants. We always welcome new volunteers to participate in our trials. In addition to recruiting from our own clinic, we have utilized radio and television advertising to recruit new volunteers. We also are happy to collaborate with study specific central advertising campaigns. All of our studies do offer subjects compensation for time and travel, which also aides in subject retention.

Our practice maintains 2 research locations:
